Masks and Fight Choreography

Okay, it's two in the morning, I've spent 10 hours of my Sunday in either production meetings or rehearsals (I ended up bookending a 4 hour rehearsal with design meetings), the light in this shot is beyond awful, and I'm having trouble forming sentences. Not my sharpest entry. Maybe it's the whiskey. But if you jump about a third of the way in there's some nice footage of our fight choreography excersizes, and some face casting for masks. We also worked the "romantic" scenes, but you won't see any of that. Thanks to Richard Enriquez for his camera work (and everybody else for their commitment).

Thanks for the ongoing teaching and tools; looking forward to the deeper investigation of masks. Will you be sharing any rehearsal that involves the masks in perf., or that just plain consider and play with masks? I've never known enough, and I'd love to see and hear what the actors are thinking about...

Hi Gordon-- thanks for your comment. I've only got two rehearsals left before break and then we're into tech, so I doubt I'll be able to share any mask work in rehearsals. The masks' appearance in the show is very brief, so it's not the intensive work you might be thinking of. But I'll keep my eye out of opportunities to capture what we're doing.
